Chris Isaak: Singer/Songwriter is
currently touring the USA and Europe promoting his 11th studio album
BEYOND THE SUN, out October
2011. The album is Isaak’s personal
tribute to Sam
Phillips, and his Sun Studios
in Memphis. Phillips is the producer who
brought us the greats like Elvis, Jerry Lee
Lewis, Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins, Roy Orbison and many more.
Isaak
was featured on a PBS Special in June ‘Live
Beyond The Sun’ and has appeared on numerous TV and Radio talk shows promoting
the same this past year.
Many may not even know who he is, but he has
been in the music business since 1984 with his first album out in 1985. He
comes and goes in popularity, and known for his live show/performance. You may remember his music from the Stanley Kubricks
1999 film ‘Eyes Wide Shut’ , he sang
‘Baby Did a Bad Bad Thing’ while
Nicole Kidman
danced in the nude for Tom Cruise. Another
recognizable song, and the highest rated
‘Wicked Game’, is his most
memorable song. Noteworthy: ‘Blue Hotel’, ‘Dancin’, ‘Let Me down Easy’,
‘Somebody’s Crying’, and ‘Don’t Make Me Dream About You’.
The
Rock and Roll/Rockabilly and Roots Rocker is now 56 years old and his voice
sounds better than remembered. His tone is so close to Elvis and
Roy Orbison
that
he pulls off this tribute album to the stars from the Sun Studio as close
to authentic as possible. It is refreshing remembering the incredibly
talented music icons that came before. All in all a very nice job and well
worth a few favorite downloads.
