Jonny
Lang
just released his 6th
studio album
FIGHT FOR MY SOUL,
out on iTunes 9/17/2013.
This album
is a new direction and change of pace for Lang from the hard hitting blues he
grew up on. The ‘Kid Jonny Lang’ is all
grown up; at the age of 32 he is a husband, and the father of four (1 Boy, 3
Girls).
Lang, primarily
a heavy hitting blues guitar slinging player with a gravely voice recorded his first album at the
age of 14. As a young kid, Lang toured with the best in the ‘Blues World’ like
Buddy Guy, BB King, The Rolling Stones, Aerosmith and many others. In 1998 he was nominated for a Grammy for his
album WANDER THIS WORLD, at
the age of 17, but he didn't win a Grammy until 2006 with his Gospel influenced
album TURN AROUND.
This new
album is another turn-about from blues and gospel to contemporary
soul/pop rock and I think you will be surprised how good it really is. He released his single from the album a few weeks ago 'Blew Up' (The House), a good solid rocking song with Lang's guitar finesse. The more I listen to it the more I like it. It is a mature softer side of Lang, sure to win you over.
