ALEXANDER EBERT: SINGER/SONGWRITER

Alexander (Alex) Ebert:  Singer/Songwriter

Alex Ebert released his solo album on March 1, 2011, simply titled ALEXANDER.
His album is classified as alternative music, more relative to the root music trending across the country like wild fire in the past year or so.

If you were a follower of Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zero’s, or Ima Robot, you will recognize Ebert as the front man for both of these groups. Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zero’s are planning to release their 4th studio album later this year.

As a young man, Alex thought he would be a rapper, but ended up in the neo—psychedelia, new wave, post punk,  slutty punk rock, nu-metal sounds of Ima Robot.
After years of the party life and drug addiction, Ebert wanted a change. He pulled a couple stints in rehab, and from that evolved his alter ego Edward Sharpe. Assuming a new name helped Alex open new avenues, and finds the person that was lost.

His new music is simple, uplifting, from the heart songwriting. The musicality is huge. It’s familiar yet different, if the words don’t get you the music will.  It’s a combination of the seventies, folk (a little Dylan/Guthrie), and soft rock, soft country rock, typical of the root music movement. If you are into the trend, Alex Ebert is a person of interest and worth your attention.
