TAB BENOIT: SINGER/SONGWRITER/MUSICIAN

Tab Benoit: If you enjoy the purring of a Fender Telecaster, Benoit makes the hair on the back of your neck stand straight up. His pawing, strumming, and string popping has paid off.  The Baton Rouge Louisiana blues musician has released his 17th studio album April 2011, with seven original tracks. MEDICINE co-produced by Benoit and long time friend, and musician Andres Osborne. The album has been recognized by the Blues Music Awards with 4 nominations to be presented on May 10, 2012. Benoit is nominated for; 1. Entertainer of the Year, 2. Album of the Year, 3. Best Contemporary Male Artist, 4. Best Contemporary Blues Album. Rightly deserved, as this album defines Benoit as a bluesman of today and tomorrow.

This album includes; Ivan Neville on the Hammond B3, Drummer Brady Blade, Corey Duplechin on Bass, and Michael Doucet on Fiddle, and Osborne on guitar, and back-up vocals. These talented guys have joined together to bring us relevant root music that is entertaining, with Benoits kick-ass guitar, crisp fretwork, and concrete guitar chops. MEDICINE is just what the doctor has ordered to relieve your pain and suffering.

HIGHLIGHTS: “Sunrise” showcases Benoit in a slower blues number, and “A Whole Lotta Soul” high-lights Ivan Neville on the B-3.“Nothing Takes The Place of You” is a deep, soulful ballad, see link below.

“Tab Benoit is Louisiana’s No. 1 roots export. More than just an acclaimed bluesman, he is an indefatigable conservation advocate. Benoit is a driving force behind Voice of the Wetlands, an organization working to save Louisiana’s wetlands. In 2010, he received the Governor’s Award for Conservationist of the Year from the Louisiana Wildlife Federation. Benoit also starred in the iMax motion picture Hurricane on the Bayou, a documentary of Hurricane Katrina’s effects and a call to restore the wetlands.” From his BIO on his own Website.
