The British singer Taio Cruz is having/had an ambitious year. He started out in 2006, and had some success in the UK , before his CD ROKKSTAR took off in the US
He also released the single “Imagine” the end of December 2010, yes the John Lennon song, which is to say in the least mediocre. He puts his own spin on it, but it's not pleasing enough for my ear or what I want to hear to ever think of purchasing it. Not a good song choice for him.
All that being said, I like his CD released in 2009 ROKSTARR, which include the hits “Dynamite”, and “Break Your Heart”, catchy hip tunes. Definitely POP tunes and he could be on his way to “POP STAR” status, but the major amount of tunes are “DANCE” music, with undulating electropop beats which limit his audience.
I like his fashion style, he possess fashion swagger and he has his own line ROKSTARR, which includes accessories, affordable and fashion forward for the young at heart.
He also released an Acoustic Recording Session on iTunes 1.4.2011 of his previous recordings, some of which as very nice.
I think it is worth keeping an eye on his career to see if he becomes the POP STAR of his potential, but I am a little weary of the direction he may be headed.
