BOB MARLEY & THE WAILERS: REGGAE/POP

BOB MARLEY AND THE WAILERS: REGGAE/POP
Just out February 1,2011  LIVE FOREVER , The Stanley Theatre, Pittsburgh PA (1980) Bob Marley and The Wailers in concert LIVE!  This was his final show, the last recorded concert before he died of cancer in May 1981 at the age of 36. The live concert was never officially released before in album form. Bootlegged versions of this live concert have been in circulations for years.
This version,  just out has been re-mastered and a hit among Marley fans.  The bootlegged version has some definite sound issues, and the re-master version has sound issues as well, but a better overall quality.
It is classic Marley, but again the sound quality is good, not great. The last 2 songs “Work” and “Get Up Stand Up” are of bootleg quality.  Marley sounds like he is too far away from the microphone to hear the clarity of his voice, and I am not talking about him singing up in heaven. It’s as if someone was in the back of the stadium holding a microphone above the crowd to capture the moment.
Overall he sounds strong considering he collapsed 2 days before the concert and died less than 8 months later. His music is now over 30 years old and still has a powerful message of social strife that is applicable today. This is a must have for the Bob Marley Collector, it’ a reminder of his social influence and significance throughout the world. He’s justa  “Jammin” live forever!
